VanArts graduates from 2D or 3D Character Animation may apply as transfer student candidates to Animation Year 2 of their Bachelor of Media Arts (BMA) degree program at Emily Carr University of Art & Design. This provides students the opportunity to complete a professional diploma from VanArts, and a bachelor’s degree from Emily Carr in 4 years. For international students, there is the added benefit of post-graduate work permit eligibility after completing their bachelor’s degree from Emily Carr.

VanArts students who successfully complete the 2D or 3D Character Animation Diploma (Terms 1 – 4) may apply as transfer student candidates to the Bachelor of Media Arts (Animation Major) Year 2. All VanArts Diploma applicants must meet ECUAD published academic requirements for admission and submit an art portfolio for review. If successful, then HUMN 100 or an equivalent course(s) must be completed before commencing second-year studies and HUMN 101 must be completed before commencing third-year studies.
VanArts students are eligible to receive up to 27.0 studio credits and 3.0 critical studies credits on transfer. Students will be required to make up any academic and/or studio deficiencies as per ECUAD’s Animation Major Degree program requirements.
