Bro Jake Says Farewell to TSN’s Morning Show
Local radio legend Bro Jake Edwards is hosting his last morning broadcast on TSN 1040, and is celebrating with a big farewell show on Friday, June 29, from 5:30am to 9am. Joining him will be our own Head of Broadcasting & Online Media Martin Strong, who co-hosted with Jake for 11 years on the Rock 101 Morning Show. According to this article in The Province, Bro Jake not completely leaving the airwaves, but will continue to host a 4-hour show on Saturdays.
Bro Jake has previously visited our Broadcasting students as a guest speaker to share his knowledge and experience. Best known for his fictional comedy character “The Champ,” he has been in the business for over 40 years. As one of Canada’s most successful radio DJs, he has hosted #1 shows in Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver and was awarded Canadian Radio Personality of the Year in 2001.
