Class Schedules

Full-time program classes are typically held Monday to Friday from approximately 9am to 12pm, and 1pm to 4pm.

Evening Classes
In some programs (most often in Game Art & Design and Visual Effects), there will be additional or alternate class times from 6pm to 9pm on some evenings.

VanArts Time Zone
Classes are delivered in Pacific Time Zone from Vancouver, BC, Canada. If you are taking your program ONLINE from a different time zone, please note that classes are delivered synchronously and must be attended LIVE when they happen. You will need to calculate your time difference.

Attendance Expectations
All formal classes with an instructor present count towards attendance. “Open Labs” are periods when students are welcome to come in and work on assignments, but no instructor is assigned and they do not count towards attendance.

Course Schedules
Individual course schedules will be available through myVanArts, our private student website. Before classes start, you will be given login information for myVanArts and shown how to access it.

Term Schedules, Study Breaks and Holidays
Full-time program Term Schedules (Start Date – End Date) are listed below by Fall or Spring intakes. Study Breaks occur for typically one week between the end of Term 2/start of Term 3, and for the last two weeks of December. VanArts is closed for all Holidays listed.

Study Breaks

VanArts is closed for classes during study breaks between terms 2 & 4 and for the Winter holidays. The schools is typically closed to students during term-end study breaks to allow for school cleaning, software updates, and to prepare classrooms for the arrival of new students.
